If you want a concrete example of this and are going to SIGGRAPH this summer, make sure to check out Ride the Comix at DisneyQuest. Katrix/Millenium Rush (one of the DQ vendors) did a spectacular job of creating "realistic" characters and scenes on a very low polygon/pixel budget. In fact, by comparing the different high end virtual reality attractions at DQ (each developed by a different vendor), you can get a feeling for how important the artist's skill and ability in the medium is when creating content. I'll let you decide which attractions had better artists working on them. =) Jeff
