The Sony stereo version is significantly more expensive (almost twice the cost) as reported in the May issue of VR News. But they are both still way lower cost than a Virtual Research, Kaiser, or N-Vision hmd. (Kaiser still gets my vote for the most comfortable and best hi-res if you got the $12k or so). The IO Display systems folks (www.i-glasses.com) are still out there. For Nav devices, you might consider a SpaceOrb (http://www.spaceorb.com $59.00+S&H) or Global Devices 6DOF (http://www.globaldevices.com). I dont know if GD has anything in production, but they are still around. Those are certainly low cost alternatives to the industrial line from Spacetec (http://www.spacetec.com) ============= Jerry Isdale, Technology Review Editor, VR News phone: 805 379 2667 1527 Wakefield Ave fax: 805 496 8547 Thousand Oaks, CA 91360 email: isdale@acm.org http://www.vrnews.com http://vr.isdale.com/techReview.html
