Does anyone have an experience comparing the performances between SGI Visual Workstation 540/320, Intergraph TDZ 2000 GT1/GX1, or HP ... ? I really cannot decide which one I should buy (Especially, VWS540 and TDZ2000). How fast do you feel them in your daily work ? Are they faster than O2, OnyxRE2, Indigo2 Maximum Impact, OCTANE, or IR ?? Another interest is the practicability of hobby-use 3D cards like Voodoo3 and TNT2. I think there are very few results on the web of the comparison between SGI WSs (like O2) and high-end NT machines (like SGI VWS) and high-end consumers' machines (using, say, Voodoo3). I haven't seen any results of Viewperf of consumers' machine, and Quake II benchmark results of SGI WS. Which one do you recommend for VR ? Of course, it may not be only based on the cost performance... I'd like to hear your stories. ---- Kiyoshi KIYOKAWA Multimedia Communications Section, Communications Research Laboratory, MPT 4-2-1 Nukui-Kitamachi, Koganei, Tokyo, 184-8795, Japan [kiyo@crl.go.jp] [http://i.am/kiyo2] [Tel/Fax +81-42-327-6250/7941]
