This year will be our 25th anniversary, making GI, which started in 1969, the oldest computer graphics and human-computer interface conference in the world. GI is sponsored by Canadian Human-Computer Communications Society. GI '99 will be held at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Kingston is an attractive historic town located on Lake Ontario. There are excellent pubs and restaurants within a ten-minute walk of the university. Renowned as a summer tourist attraction, Kingston is midway between Toronto and Montreal, about a 2.5 hour drive from either location. There are several daily connecting flights from Toronto, along with bus and train connections from Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa. GRAPHICS INTERFACE has established a reputation for a high-quality technical program. As well as regular Papers, GI '99 will feature Posters, Videos, and Invited Speakers. Extra charges will be made for papers exceeding the limit and for coloured pages. The GI '99 proceedings will be available to SIGGRAPH Plus members. Exceptionally good papers will be considered for publication in journals. Arrangements exist for the best graphics papers to be considered by Computer Graphics Forum and for the best HCI papers to be considered by Behaviour & Information Technology. Posters Posters provide an opportunity to present on-going or late-breaking work. They are displayed during the conference with scheduled times for attendees to meet the researchers and discuss the work. Prepare three copies of a package containing a 2-page *camera*ready* abstract and a 1-page diagram showing the proposed layout of the poster presentation. Send the package to either Posters Chair to be received by 5 March 1999. A notice of decision will be mailed by 2 April 1999. The camera-ready abstracts of accepted Posters will be copied, bound, and distributed at the conference. Videos Videos will be shown during an Electronic Theatre evening session at GI '99.
