I also implemented a couple of interaction toolkits on top of SVE, but they were not to support generic interactors; rather, they focused on the rapid and easy development of specific types of interaction tools and techniques in an application. Two of them are discussed in my paper "Toolsets for the development of highly interactive and information-rich virtual environments" in vol. 3, no. 2 of the Int'l Journal of VR (you can download the paper from my web page). These were for audio annotations and selectable, draggable 2d/3d widgets respectively. I also implemented a system that allowed an experimenter to choose parts ("technique components") of a manipulation interaction technique to form a whole. It allowed you to play around with over 600 possibilities to determine if any were worth looking into further - no pubs on this one but let me know if you have questions. -- Doug A.
