Paper submissions for Resolve 2006 take the form of short position papers. Position papers should be targeted at raising a question or framing an issue for discussion during the workshop. Position papers are limited to 2500 words (not including figures or references).
Papers must be formatted as simple, vanilla HTML. HTML generated by
programs (such as Microsoft Word) that attempt to force the look of a
printed document are especially discouraged. You can use the
workshop's HTML position paper
template as a reference in formatting your submission.
All submissions must include the following information at the
beginning of the document:
- Title
- Author name, affiliation, mailing address, e-mail address,
phone number, fax number, and URL (if available)
- Paper category (either position paper or technical paper) and
emphasis (either research or education)
- A one paragraph abstract
- A list of relevant keywords
Position papers should also:
-
Clearly identify a specific issue or question that you would
like to see discussed in one of the workshop tracks, and show how
it relates to the workshop's topics.
-
Take a position with respect to the issue or problem raised.
-
Justify the position.
-
Compare the position taken with past and current work related
to the issue.
-
Conclude by identifying specific discussion goals derived from
this issue. In other words, how would you like to shape
the discussions at the workshop and their results?
-
Include necessary references at the end.
Position papers may take positions on research topics, describe experience reports, present case
study summaries, outline potential or completed research results, suggest classroom techniques, or propose other topics of interest to the workshop audience.
Papers will be submitted on-line.
The proceedings will be published electronically on this web site two
weeks before the workshop.
