In the Spotlight

CxxTest is a unit-testing framework for writing compilable, fully automated unit tests for C++ classes. It is like JUnit, but for C++. While it is not quite as popular as CppUnit (another JUnit-like framework for C++), it is much easier for beginners to learn and use. We use it in some of our C++ classes, in conjunction with powerful Eclipse plug-in support.

Opportunities for Student Research

My current activities are roughly grouped in the areas listed below, each of which is discussed in more detail on a separate page.

Although I normally am interested in hearing from everyone, from the undergraduate looking for undergraduate research credit to the Ph.D. candidate looking for a topic, my current student supervision schedule is full right now. Also, I have no open research assistantship positions.

As a result, I will only consider taking on the most serious, self-directed, research-oriented students who are capable of both carrying out and clearly writing up research projects with little supervision.
