focus to their activities and programs. Small grant awards are limited to a
maximum of $1,500 per year per organization. Small grant hearings are
scheduled on an as needed basis, and organizations are encouraged to submit
small grant requests at least thirty days prior to the scheduled event in order to
allow adequate review time. Fourteen-day exceptions may be made on a case-by-
case basis. The request must be in the format prescribed. Organizations may not
receive small grant funding and annual funding in the same fiscal year, which
runs from July 1 to June 30. All organization's small grant funds will be
maintained in the Student Organization Accounting Office.

Annual hearings are conducted in the spring semester for annual funding
requests for the following fiscal year. Organizations must submit budget requests
in the prescribed format by the designated deadline. Requests submitted after
the deadline will not be considered for annual funding in the same fiscal year.

funded in full. Information is sent to eligible organizations in November of each
year.

Office by the Registration Deadline in the fall.

Alcohol Free Programming Fund of Virginia Tech
The Alcohol-Free Program Fund of Virginia Tech has been established to support
on-campus programs sponsored by student organizations on Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday nights. Registered Student Organizations are eligible to apply for
these funds. The purpose of this program is to encourage social/entertainment
activities that provide interesting alternatives to students who might otherwise
engage in high risk drinking. The program will focus on increasing advertising
for events and creating new small-scale events. While the focus will be on smaller
events, some large events will be funded. The fund was established by the Board
of Visitors and is to be administered and allocated through UUSA.
The Alcohol Free Programming Fund is administered by Student
Activities Leadership Development. For more information
