Two post-doc positions in Computational/Theoretical Biophysics/Chemistry are available at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Departments of Computer Science and Physics, starting summer/fall 2007. Positions #1 Multi-scale modeling of the nucleosome. Developing of atomistic models of DNA flexibility. Requirements: Expertise in molecular modeling and simulations, especially of the DNA. Strong background in theoretical/computational chemistry, physics or biophysics. Positions #2 The general research direction is the development of novel computational methods to understand dynamics and energetics of large biomolecular systems. In particular, we are interested in advancing the implicit solvent methodology. Requirements: Expertise in theoretical/computational chemistry, physics or biophysics. Good programming skills.
