I am a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech. My supervisor is Dr. Manuel A. Pérez-Quiñones and I am currently managing an NSF-funded diversity initiative called Scholars of the Future. This program is aimed at encouraging undergraduate women and minorities in Computer Science to pursue graduate studies.
My dissertation research, which was directed by Dr. H. Rex Hartson, focused on creating a design representation framework for connecting the usability and software engineering life cycles. This framework provides a development infrastructure within which the usability engineering and software engineering lifecycles co-exist in cooperative and complementary roles. You can find more about this work at the research and publication pages.
My research interests also include sustainability through design. My focus in this area is on identifying and supplementing existing design activities aimed at incorporating sustainability concerns into the overall development life cycle.
One of my other key research areas is multi-platform user interfaces and my collaborators in this work are Mr. Manas Tungare and Dr. Manuel A. Pérez-Quiñones.
I am currently preparing manuscripts from my research for publication, teaching graduate-level CS5704 - Software Engineering and undergraduate-level CS2104 - Introduction to Problem Solving in Computer Science courses, and conducting a tenure-track job search.
