Community Service

• As a member of the New River Valley Bird Club I enjoy the time spent learning about the fascinating habits of the birds in this area. I support the club as the newsletter editor, which places me in the middle of the communication path as events occur.
• I have served as member of our neighborhood board and as vice-president of the board. The board is responsible for the upkeep of the neighborhood, attending to the concerns of the members of the neighborhood, and providing a pleasant place for everyone to enjoy life.
• The nearest mineral club is in Roanoke. Attending meetings has been difficult lately, but I have made the time to do presentations at the meeting. One presentation was a slide show on volcanoes around the world. A second presentation was a slide show on rock types seen in our National Park system
