Four Rutgers CS graduates will be discussing their career
experiences at the Rutgers Emerging Scholars in Computer Science
(RESCS) Career Night on November 14th, 2007:
- Rashi Rai, Rutgers College Class of 1996, majored in
Computer Science. She has been working with Merck & Co, Inc. for the last 11
years. Her current role is an IT Account Manager in Corporate IT
supporting internal Merck clients. Last year she visited the Fall 2006
DCS class on Software Engineering to share her real-world experiences
with the software lifecycle.
- Nick Alexandro, Rutgers Class of 2005, earned a BS in
Computer Science. He was hired by his current employer, Vanguard, through the fall job fair
at Rutgers. At Vanguard, he has worked so far primarily in two
positions: a production support role, and a User Interface Development
role. Both have been highly technical jobs in which I have been
involved with a variety of applications.
- Gary Oeters, Rutgers Class of 2005, earned a BS in Computer
Science and Economics. After working in the commodities trading pits
at the New York Mercantile Exchange, he joined Bloomberg LP where he is
currently with the R&D Portfolio Analytics team. His responsibilities
center on building Bloomberg's next-generation of portfolio risk,
attribution, and performance tools for their 270,000 worldwide
customers.
- Andrew Weinstein, Rutgers College class of 1981, majored
in Computer Science. Currently, Andrew is the CEO of a mid-sized
software solutions consulting firm named Integrated Systems and Services Group,
which he founded in 1986. His current responsibilities at ISS Group
include strategic business planning, solutions portfolio development,
Business Partner relationship management, Executive management, and
Marketing and Sales activities. From 1981 through 1986 Andrew was an
IT consultant in a mid-sized NYC accounting firm performing
programming and other IT related consulting services.
Schedule
Pizza and drinks will be available at 7:00pm; presentations and Q&A
discussions from 7:15-8:15pm. The panelists will be available for
informal discussions over dessert and coffee from 8:15-9:15pm.
