Currently, the number of organizations adopting Agile Practices is increasing; some of the reasons being (1) improved quality, (2) earlier return on investment, (3) shorter time to market, (4) enhanced customer relationships and (5) better team morale. The Agile approach to requirements engineering is to determine the requirements for the system at a high level and then gather details as needed just-in-time [JIT].
The Requirements Generation Model (RGM) developed at Virginia Tech, is an operational model that structures the plan– driven requirements engineering process. The RGM comprises of a framework and a monitoring methodology that structures the needs analysis, requirements elicitation and evaluation.
I am now working on developing the Agile RGM, an approach integrating the beneficial aspects of both Agile methods and the RGM. |
