I completed my PhD from the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech in June 2020! At Virginia Tech, I was advised by T M Murali at the Computational Systems Biology Lab. For the summer of 2018, I worked as a research intern at the Research Informatics and Knowledge Utilization (RIKU) department at Celgene Corp., in Summit, NJ. Prior to joining Virginia Tech, I was an MS student in the Department of Biotechnology at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT), from 2013 to 2015. During my Masters, I was co-advised by Dr. Karthik Raman and Dr. Shankar Balachandran for my work on designing efficient algorithms to evaluate the knockout behavior in organisms using genome-scale metabolic models. From July 2012 to 2013, I worked as an engineer trainee in the Process Automation Department at FLSmidth Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. I received my Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, in 2012. My research interests are broadly in the areas of computational biology and data analytics.

Apart from computer languages, I’m interested in writing systems (mostly Brahmic). I also enjoy hiking, photography and generative art.
