This is my standard scheme for naming scientific papers

I have a standard scheme for naming the PDFs of published papers that I like you to use when saving a paper as a PDF, uploading papers to a Google Drive, or sending papers by email.

A paper has three important components that I use: (1) author name(s); (2) journal name; and (3) year of publication.

ONE AUTHOR.

    <Author Last Name>_<Journal Full Name>_<Year>.pdf

Example:

    Heath_NatureGenetics_2018.pdf

TWO AUTHORS.

    <First Author><Second Author>_<Journal Full Name>_<Year>.pdf

Example:

    JonesSmith_JournalOfTheoreticalPhysics_2003.pdf

MORE THAN TWO AUTHORS. This is the most common case.

    <First Author>EtAl_<Journal Full Name>_<Year>.pdf

Example:

    TorricelliEtAl_JournalOfComputationalBiology_1998.pdf

Note the capitalization of all words in the journal name. This scheme works extremely well when you are searching for a particular paper.
