Unmanned Ground Vehicle
Capstone Project Mentor
As part of my involvement in Computational Multi-Physics Systems Lab, I mentored a Mechanical Engineering seniors team of 10 undergraduate student on a 2-semester long project. The goal of the project was to design and build an unmanned ground vehicle to take part and compete in the MBZIRC 2020. The tasks that the robot had to complete were to automatically pick and place bricks and build a wall and be also capable of extinguishing fires.
For the project, I guided the students as mentor in the design and manufacturing process as well as in the assembly. I coordinated their effort and made sure they made their milestones on time. The team ranked 9th out of 60 almost teams for best design. The vehicle also participated in MBZIRC 2020 Challenge 2, where it ranked 8th and Challenge 3, where it ranked 9th (see here results).
