Notable Publications and Scholarship
  1. The 2nd edition of Doug Bowman's widely acclaimed book "3D User Interfaces: Theory and Practice," was published by Addison-Wesley. Doug's co-authors are Joseph LaViola, Ernst Kruijff, (VT CS alum) Ryan McMahan, and Ivan Poupyrev.
  2. CS PhD student Bo Li was lead author on a paper recognized with the best paper award at the 26th International Symposium on High Performance Parallel and Distributed Computing (HPDC 2017). The paper, "COS: A parallel performance model for dynamic variations in processor speed, memory speed, and thread concurrency," was co-authored with Edgar Leon (LLNL) and Bo's advisor, Kirk Cameron.
  3. Daphne Yao gave the opening keynote address at the Fifth International Workshop on Security in Cloud Computing (SCC), held in conjunction with the 12th ACM Asia Conference on Computer and Communications Security (ASIACCS).
