This course will survey the emerging field of human-AI interaction, with an emphasis on interactions in the context of data analytics applications. We will investigate relevant issues from interdisciplinary perspectives of human-computer interaction and machine learning.

Topics will include:

• usability challenges, algorithmic design issues
• human-in-the-loop ML methods
• explainable AI
• learning from user interactions
• human-AI interaction design guidelines

 The course will emphasize readings in the scientific literature and novel projects.
