CS 4284 K Cameron (Green) Systems & Networking Capstone
Ever wonder how much impact computers have on the environment? Wonder how a computer scientist might make a difference one day? In this Systems and Networking Capstone, we will consider the environmental impact of hardware and software on our world. Student teams will be tasked with creating new or modifying existing computer systems to be environmentally-aware of their own impact with a goal of reducing carbon footprint without sacrificing the performance and capabilities we've come to expect. We will take an agile, entrepreneurial view of software creation and demonstrate that software system advances need not come at the expense of our planet.
Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CS 3114 and CS 3214.
