There are several psych departments around the US using VR now both for treatments and for research studies into perception and cognition. Skip Rizzo of USC is the moderator of the list - arizzo@rcf.usc.edu Skip has done some work with spatial abilities, in particular mental rotations. One of these studies refutes the idea that men and women have inherently different rotation abilities. He found that after a short bit of practice in VR both men and women performed equally well on standard tests. > I want to publish in an educational oriented journal and maybe some of > you know papers with good evaluation studies proving that VR helps to > improve spatial abilities.
