It is not your fault. Let me descibe the project with details. On Wed, 26 Sep 2001, Chad Wingrave wrote: > I don't remember your message but my first question is in what > context? The interactive task we have integrated including navigation and manipulation. The device to help navigation is joystick, and we use the simplest walking. LogiTech head tracker is used to track subject head position. 3D mouse to track hand position. The subject is requested to pick up objects in a VE. the pick-up is simple touch and pick up. Those mapping functions, which exceed human's natual abilities, are not involved, such as go-go, extending arms, virtual menu etc. Both displays are stereo. The subject is sitting inside of dome in both case. > > I would suggest any comparisons of displays should be tightly related to > the task that is being performed. > I was thinking how to prove our comparison is helpful. Every training task uses different devices, may use motion platform.(it is also in our customized dome system). What kind of tasks are most useful to compare the display devices? thanks a lot, Jian Chen ---------- University of Houston > > -Chad (cwingrav@cc.gatech.edu) > > On Wed, 26 Sep 2001, Jian Chen wrote: > > > Hi, > > I posted this message after coming back from SIGGRAPH, but nobody answer > > it. > > I am working on comparison of HMD - VR4 and Dome VE system for NASA. > > Any comments? > > > > thanks, > > Jian Chen > > --------------------------- > > University of Houston > > > > > >
