Hello, I'm Laura Arns (some of you may remember me as Laura Nelson), 4th
year grad student at Iowa State. My advisor/boss is Carolina Cruz-Neira.
I have worked on a variety of VR projects in the past, including VRGobi
(statistics), some John Deere tractor aps, and an oil field
visualization project. My Masters work was a comparison of the VRGobi ap
with XGobi, a similar program for the desktop, in an effort to show that
VR provides visualization benefits for statistical data. My homepage at

in Computer Science and Mathematics was at Wartburg College
(www.wartburg.edu).
Currently I am trying to formalize my dissertation topic. As some of you
know, we (VRAC, www.vrac.iastate.edu) are in the process of constructing
the C6 (a fully enclosed CAVE-like device), so I am hoping to do some
sort of comparison among several different VR devices in terms of user
interaction, perhaps travel/locomotion.
