These openings are within a three-year project "Visual Interactive Simulation - Tools and Applications" (VISTA) - a research project funded by the European Union. Applicants should have a background in one or several of the fields relevant in VISTA: o Natural behaviour, e.g. real-time simulation of human behvaiour. o Methods for real-time simulation, e.g. real-time physics. o Networked virtual environments, e.g. network algorithms and applications. o Interaction technology, e.g. haptics, motion tracking, motion platforms, vision, audio. o Software design with focus on VR and advanced simulator systems. o High-end real-time graphics. Scalable and parallel methods for immersive VR. Focus is on technology, methods and tools but the philosophy of the lab is that such research goes hand in hand with development of new applications and prototypes. VRlab is a center for multidisciplinary research in Virtual Reality, where both basic research and application development is conducted. Application areas include e.g., entertainment, medical training and rehabilitation, psychology, scientific computing and visualization, urban design, industrial design, vechicle simulation and driver training. The environment is open and multi-disciplinary, involving researchers from a broad range of scientific domains and application areas.
