Why do you find that difficult to use? Run through the tutorials and you'll get a good idea. You might need a load of extra plugins to make it work with your VR software. We export everything into .3ds format (.obj export is also possible with the right plugin). The beauty about 3DStudio is, that you can make models look good before you convert them. Sometimes you run into problems, when generating Boolean objects and the face-normals go a bit funny, but as i said: there are plugins to control that. Texture mapping, etc. are much easier to handle in 3DS than in DIVISION's dVISE / dvReality. We are using the exact same hardware as you were using in your 'Gorilla project' and 3DS gives you a good control over the geometric complexity of your model, if that is a limiting factor.
