Subject: AR online survey

Dear 3DUI member,

At Virginia Tech we have a variety of research projects in AR. One of them involves determining which features and characteristics of AR hardware displays are most likely to affect human performance when using AR applications. Because AR is relatively new, there has been very little research done related specifically to human performance. Part of our work is to determine those features or characteristics of AR display hardware that are
most likely to influence effective, efficient, and safe human performance when using AR displays.

We are conducting a small on-line survey to gather data to give insight into this issue. We would like you to participate in this survey. It has only 10 questions, and should take less than 15 minutes, according to our pilot survey-takers. Also, if you know other appropriate people who have some knowledge of AR, please pass this survey request along to them.

The survey can be found at http://websurveyor.net/wsb.dll/13743/AR.htm

We expect to collect data at this site through Friday, 5 September 2003.

Please note that there are a couple of things about replying to the questions that may be less than ‘user-friendly’ (e.g., a skinny box to type text into). These are because of limitations of the survey instrument we are using.

Many thanks, in advance, for your participation in the survey!

Best regards,
Debby Hix and Joe Gabbard
