Hello,
I was getting ready to send out a fall announcement, and just stumbled across a problem. It looks like the VT computing center folks decided to *change* the CSV file format that instructors download when they get their own course rosters. Yep, they added a column for some reason.
It was fairly easy to patch the Web-CAT source so that it handles either the old or the new VT Banner format. In addition, I added a "generic" CSV format that our non-VT users can create a bit more easily/intuitively, and updated the on-line help info. Now, when you go to the Courses tab and edit your course settings, click Next until you get to your course Roster. Click on the help link in the upper right corner of the page to see the full details of the CSV formats you can choose, as well as full instructions for everything else on that page.
The only problem is that I'll have to stop Web-CAT, upload the new binaries, and restart it before the fix will be in place. I probably won't get to that until this weekend because of other deadlines. So please DO NOT upload course rosters until Monday. Thanks!
Oh--one other bit of news, our sourceforge site is now active! It is still just a skeleton, and there's no Web-CAT code there yet, but Tony Allowatt has already uploaded the source for some of our Eclipse plug-ins, and we'll be adding more throughout the semester.
