Project Abstract
 
This report presents the design and implementation of a wireless Ad Hoc Instant Messenger application based on Microsoft .Net Compact Framework and the Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protocol. This report first gives the project background of wireless Ad Hoc Network routing protocols. Then it describes the application development environment and the design and implementation of a working "Pocket Chat" prototype using Pocket PCs in 802.11-based wireless ad hoc environments, followed by the discussion of the project result and future research work extended from the project.
