to gain access to secret documents he says may prove his son

Bush Previews 'Failed Leadership' Campaign Theme - Previewing his theme for the rest
of the presidential campaign, Republican nominee George W. Bush

president Al Gore, his Democratic rival, as a member of an
administration that failed to lead for seven years and could
not 'make the case' for four more.
Gore Calls for Patients' Bill of Rights - Vice President Al Gore ended a week of
campaigning on health issues Thursday by calling for a strong
patients' bill of rights, something President Clinton has

plans earlier in the week to strengthen Medicare, add a
prescription drug benefit to the program and ensure access to
health insurance for all America's children, Gore turned to an
issue which has stalled in Congress.
Lockerbie Trial Adjourns, Key Witness on Hold - Judges suspended the
Lockerbie bombing trial for three weeks Thursday, leaving the

latest delay in the 48-day-old trial of Libyans Al-Amin Khalifa
Fahima and Abdel Basset al-Megrahi at the former U.S. airbase
in the Netherlands.
