CS 6204: Advanced Topics in Emergent Systems

This course will explore how new technologies affect the course of
computing. We will consider the use of emerging technologies from dark
silicon to computational accelerators and the promise of nano-technologies
with a goal to ascertain whether these approaches truly solve computing's
most pressing challenges. Students will be expected to read and evaluate
papers from related conferences and journals, present advanced topics
to the class, and conduct exploratory research on emergent systems.
