CS 6604 Current Trends in Digital Library Research

This student-oriented course will focus on current and new trends in 
digital library research. The course starts with an overview of digital 
libraries, main issues in DL research, and then some of the major DL 
research projects and their main contributions.  Students are expected to 
participate actively in selecting a DL research topic, writing a survey 
article on that topic, and presenting the topic to the rest of the class. 
The students will then work as a team on a digital library project that 
emphasizes one or more of the main topics of interest. The project is 
expected to be implemented using open-source technologies.
