CS 6204: Sustainable Computing Dr. Kirk Cameron Course Description Sustainable Computing is the notion of designing computer systems and applications for efficient use of power and energy. In this course, we will explore the origins of Green/Sustainable Computing and the extant literature on the topic as well as the recent design and deployment of a "Green" Supercomputer at Virginia Tech. Students will study and learn to critique papers in the literature. Students will also be expected to complete a research project related to Sustainable Computing. It is recommended that students have had at least one course that covers the major topics of computer architecture and operating systems.
