About Me

I am a fifth-year CS Ph.D. student at Virginia Tech, advised by Ali R. Butt and Kirshanthan Sundararajah. I received my B.E. in Software Engineering from Northeastern University (China) in 2020.

My research focuses on improving memory efficiency in cloud (both in capacity and performance) across the stack, with the following three core aspects:

  • Memory tiering in PL virtual machine to exploit object-level semantics to drive fine-grained tiering decisions beyond page-granularity OS tiering.
  • Achieving true memory sharing in cloud by decoupling cache-line sharing from memory page sharing, to eliminate Flush+Reload exposure.
  • Improving memory-level parallelism on modern architecture by opportunistically eliminating code branches.
