Paper submissions for the RESOLVE Workshop 2002 fall into two categories:
Short position papers are targeted at raising a question or framing an issue for discussion during the workshop, either in the educational track or the research track. Position papers are limited to 2500 words (not including figures or references).
Technical papers provide a longer format for presenting experience reports, research results, classroom techniques, or descriptions of "work in progress". Technical papers are limited to 5000 words (not including figures or references).
A selection of accepted technical papers from both tracks will be invited for presentation on the first day of the workshop.

Papers must be formatted as simple, vanilla HTML. HTML generated by programs (such as Microsoft Word) that attempt to force the look of a printed document are especially discouraged. You can use the workshop's HTML position paper template as a reference in formatting your submission.
All submissions must include the following information at the beginning of the document:
Short position papers should:
Clearly identify a specific issue or question that you would like to see discussed in one of the workshop tracks, and show how it relates to the workshop's topics.
Take a position with respect to the issue or problem raised.
Justify the position.
Compare the position taken with past and current work related to the issue.
Conclude by identifying specific discussion goals derived from this issue. In other words, how would you like to shape the discussions at the workshop and their results?
Include necessary references at the end.
Technical papers should include the content normally expected of workshop or conference papers that describe experience reports, case studies, research results, classroom techniques, or similar topics. Be sure to include a discussion of how the work you describe relates to past and current work of others.
Papers will be submitted on-line. The proceedings will be published electronically on this web site two weeks before the workshop.
