PhD Qualifier Instructions for CS Department, Spring 2016

Policy. Every area sets their own policies with respect to registration and deadlines. If an area chair does not set their own policy, the following default policies will apply:

Default Schedule and Deadlines

Students have 3 weeks to study the readings, and two weeks to answer the questions provided. The committee has 2-3 weeks to grade the exam and/or conduct oral exams (if needed or required by the committee).

December 4, 2015 (Friday): Complete Reading List Available. Some reading lists are already available, check for your area.
December 9, 2015 (Wednesday, last day of classes): Students must commit to take exam. You have to register with the chair of the exam.
January: Written Examination Available.
2 weeks later: Written Examination Due. Different committees might have oral presentations required too.
Feb 12, 2016 (Friday): Exam Results due to GPC.

You also have not committed to taking any exam yet.
