I have been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech since January 2006.

Research interests: object-oriented programming, software tools for distributed computing, middleware, automated software enhancement and refactoring.

Research

At Virginia Tech, I lead the Software Innovations Lab, whose mission is to catalyze the advanced computer systems of today and tomorrow by creating novel software technologies. To that end, the lab's research is concerned with reducing the complexity of developing, maintaining, and evolving complex, mission-critical computer systems. Current research projects aim at creating novel programming abstractions and automated programming technologies for multiple application domains.
