Director: Dr. Jin-Hee Cho

Biography
Jin-Hee Cho is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech, where she has served since August 2018, and Director of the Trustworthy Cyberspace Lab. She received tenure in June 2023 and has been an Affiliate Professor at Virginia Tech’s National Security Institute since August 2022.
Before joining Virginia Tech, she was a computer scientist at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory from 2010 to 2018, following an ORAU-ARL postdoctoral fellowship from 2009 to 2010. She also held adjunct faculty appointments at Virginia Tech and George Washington University.
Her research brings together trustworthy and adversarial machine learning, cybersecurity, decision-making under uncertainty, and network science. Topics include trust management, intrusion response, moving target defense, cyberdeception, information credibility, and misinformation mitigation.

Selected distinctions
Her honors include the 2013 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (awarded in 2016), the 2015 IEEE Communications Society William R. Bennett Prize, and the 2023 IEEE ComSoc CNOM Test of Time Paper Award.
